Prisma Tropical

Brooklyn via San Juan, Puerto Rico’s Balún makes dream pop-obsessed electronic music driven by clave and reggaeton rhythms. Prima Tropical is both moody and melodic indie rock, but with a percussive bent absent from most music of this type. Highlights include “La Nueva Ciudad” with its infectious hook, the synthpoppy “Años Atrás,” groovy “Ultravioleta,” and the festive “Pulsos.”
