Ballenas Muertas En San Sebastián

Released

Having started as an indie rock band with high energy and plenty of hooks, El Columpio Asesino soon found a path to noisier territory with Ballenas Muertas de San Sebastián. This Pamplona, Spain band combined their deadpan-yet-hooky vocals with synthpunk and industrial influences,  in angular music that’s as fatalistic as it is exhilarating. Highlights include the frenetic “Babel,” the chills-inducing “A La Espalda del Mar,” the homemade electronic distortion of “La Lombriz de Tu Cuello,” and the cold beat of the title track.
