Within the Realm of a Dying Sun

Continuing with the ambitious, sympathetic production help of John A. Rivers, Dead Can Dance sought for their third album to aim for an even greater range than Spleen and Ideal had shown and right from the start, thanks to the sublime sweep of “Anywhere Out Of The World” and Brendan Perry’s commanding vocal performance, Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun showed it. Perry took lead on the first half of the album while Lisa Gerrard carried it home on the second, her notable range in full flight on songs like the stunning “Cantara” and “Summoning of the Muse.”
