Tijuana’s Rubén Alonso Tamayo has been experimenting with ambient and electronic music for the better part of two decades under his Fax moniker and Constellation might be his most accomplished work so far. Employing beats along with atmospheric synths, “Blind Faith” rides on an easy groove, while “Hunter” delivers mood with a slightly more urgent execution. The title track gets on a trip-hop wave without tying itself to a specific sound, and “Blue Bird” links current electronics with first-generation synthpop.
