Prove You Wrong

Released

On their second major label album, Prong brought in a new bassist, Troy Gregory, and shifted their sound away from the twisty thrash of Beg To Differ in favor of a chugging groove metal style with splashes of industrial, including sampled power drills on opener “Irrelevant Thoughts.” Gregory and drummer Ted Parsons lay down a complex postpunk groove on “Positively Blind,” and frontman Tommy Victor plays surprisingly bluesy guitar on the title track. There’s also a grinding but anthemic cover of the Stranglers’ “Get A Grip (On Yourself)” in the album’s final stretch.
