Stormcrowfleet has an unusual album title for sure but it’s not just three random words. It perfectly describes the thunderous, murderous, majestic music found within. Funeral doom from Finland — where they know cold and depressing and dark — this helped invent the subgenre, taking the ponderous trudge of doom metal one step further in the slow-mo department. Organ-aping keyboards give these ten-minute opuses an epic feel, and the vast spaces between drum strikes contain an ocean of lachrymose feelings.
