Sunrise

Released

Krautrock but from across the Baltic Sea and from weirdos who grew up with heavy metal instead of post-World War II rebuilding, Finland’s finest freaks Circle have an intimidating discography encompassing dozens of releases and probably that many side projects. Sunrise makes for as good a starting place as any. Suomi shouting and swirling guitar loops greet you, only to almost immediately make way to acoustic plucking and acid rock poetry. Anything goes: motorik and jazzy drumming coexist with gentle psych melodies and garage metal feedback bursts. Certainly one of the most singular acts in music but addicting once you come around to them.
