One of the prime movers of the Glasgow imprint LuckyMe—not just as a DJ and producer but also as an illustrator and designer—Éclair Fifi was a most playful and pop-friendly underground dance spinner, a trait she shared with the label and, eventually, a large portion of the underground dance scene. The August 2015 edition of Rinse’s LuckyMe show, with co-selector Joseph Marinetti, is agreeably cartoony and bonkers, even when the samples don’t squeal with delight—which, needless to say, they do, frequently.
