Wave of Mutilation: The Best of Pixies

Recorded
1988-1991

While there had already been one Pixies best-of in the late 1990s, the reunion of the original lineup in 2004 understandably prompted 4AD to try with another, longer one adding some further deep cut standouts. Wave of Mutilation now stands as the definitive one-disc overview of the band’s first and indisputably best era of existence, covering many singles like “Here Comes Your Man” and “Velouria,” beloved tracks from the time such as “Gigantic” and “Debaser,” and songs that gained even more subcultural cachet in later years such as “Where Is My Mind?”
