Owing as much to moody post-rock crescendos as to doom metal’s patient metallic ambiance, Mexico City’s Vyctoria makes music that is heavy, emotionally rich, and highly atmospheric. Black Emperor’s Hotel2Tango studios, Ahora Veo Más Claro showcases the band’s range, from the slow-building “Sacra Nomine” with its violin melodies and fuzzed-out guitars, to the placid title track, to the slowcore-ish “Ascenso-Descenso” and the beautiful dream pop drone of “Avidya.”
